Brief Respite

An unexpected bit of good news came in from California: The State Supreme Court upheld Proposition 8, which banned homosexual marriage in the state.

This is a little bit like one of those rare lucid moments which can occur when one is talking to an Alzheimer’s patient: You are briefly surprised at the flash of rationality, but you know that it will only last a minute or two, and then things will go back to the way they were.

For those of you who rejoiced, as I did, when you read this news, be prepared: The full assault has not yet even begun. Howling furies are about to descend on California in the form of “gay rights” activists and lawyers. Dark counsels are being held, and cabals and networks are forming. Millions – perhaps billions – of dollars will pour into the state to fund the counterattack. The forces of evil are poised like a breaking wave to crash down upon those brave Californians who dared to say, “Homosexuality is not morally equivalent to heterosexuality.”

(Why homosexual activists don’t realize that, the more effective they are, the more forceful the backlash must be, I can’t fathom. Perhaps it’s just the shortsightedness of those who want what they want and want it now. I shudder to think of what they may be bringing down on their heads. As you know, I don’t approve of violence – but not everyone shares my scruples.)

A nation battles for its soul – and right now, the battle is in California.

And don’t fool yourself. They’re coming for you next.

I am so glad the California court upheld Prop 8. Now if we can get our Supreme Court to uphold the constitution.
