In Memoriam

I happened to hear a radio broadcast today in which the host was dismissing the case of the first swine flu victim in the US as not really significant because the boy who died was a Mexican national.

Okay, let’s try that from another angle: A two-year-old boy, a citizen of Mexico, was the first person to die of swine flu within US borders. Because swine flu was used to justify the “fast-track” appointment and installation of Kathleen Sebelius as HHS secretary, and because Kathleen Sebelius is a darling of the left and an enemy of the right, swine flu is now being discounted by conservatives in order to repudiate the President’s reasoning for appointing Kathleen Sebelius.

Did you get all that?

What a tangled web we weave.

I am totally against the appointment of Kathleen Sebelius as HHS secretary, because I am totally opposed to her heartless promotion of abortion.

But I am also opposed to any heartless attempt to belittle the significance of the death of this 22-month-old boy.

Somewhere south of here, a mother and a father weep over the loss of their child. They are making funeral arrangements now, and very soon, a tiny little coffin will be placed in a tiny little grave under a tiny little headstone in some distant Mexican cemetery.

A word of advice to my cobelligerents and allies in the resistance against this corrupt culture: A man is not a man if he has no compassion. If you cannot see and respect this tragedy for what it is, then at the very least, you need a vacation. We do the cause of justice and morality great harm by smirking at and dismissing the death of “one of these little ones”.

A man with no heart is not a man.

Another thing the swine flu was used to push through:

Swine Flu Martial Law Bill Clears Massachusetts Senate

    April 29, 2009

It took corporate media swine flu hysteria to ram through a martial law bill in Massachusetts. S18 gives the Governor the power to authorize the deployment and use of force to distribute supplies and materials and local authorities will be allowed to enter private residences for investigation and to quarantine individuals.
